VII.12.21 Pompeii.  June 1862.  Bronze statue found in the small room near the entrance at VII.12.17.  Fiorelli identified it on excavation as possibly a statue of Narcissus.  See Pappalardo, U., 2001. La Descrizione di Pompei per Giuseppe Fiorelli (1875). Napoli: Massa Editore. (p.112).  Mau identifies it as a statue of Dionysus and it is now displayed as this.  See Mau, A., 1907, translated by Kelsey F. W. Pompeii: Its Life and Art. New York: Macmillan. (p.452).  Now in Naples Archaeological Museum.  Inventory number 5003.
