Looking east towards entrance at corner of Via degli Augustali, and Vicolo del Lupanare.

According to Della Corte, CIL IV 629 was still readable on the pilaster, between VII.12.14 and 13.

 

According to Epigraphik-Datenbank Clauss/Slaby (See www.manfredclauss.de), it read  -

 

Casellium aed(ilem) Sabinus cupit

[3] copo et Etius     [CIL IV 629]

According to Boyce, in the east wall of the shop-room was a rectangular niche.

Its inside walls were coated with orange-coloured stucco.

According to Jashemski, there was probably a garden in the open area at the rear of this shop-house which Della Corte had identified as a location of a school.
