VI.13.10 Pompeii. December 2004. Looking west from entrance corridor across atrium and impluvium. According to Garcia y Garcia, at the head of the impluvium was a masonry table with an arch below. This suffered damage to its top, when the bomb fell on the area of the house at VI.13.9, in 1943. See Garcia y Garcia, L., 2006. Danni di guerra a Pompei. Rome: L’Erma di Bretschneider. (p.87 and figs 186 and 187). Fig 187 shows the table, photographed by Tatiana Warscher after the war. It appears to have suffered a further loss, and is now no longer there !
