VII.7.21/22 Pompeii. Street Altar as painted by Mazois. According to Mau two pilasters supported an aedicula in which an eagle was seen.
This indicated that the shrine was dedicated to Jupiter. Above the altar was a stucco relief representing a sacrifice. Fiorelli described it as Ara Iovis with a Genius sacrificing, with two Lares and underneath a table and serpents.
